DATABASE
INFO
The
format. Databases for all KestenMedia Media Directories
(Oregon, Washington and California) are constructed and distributed
in the same manner.
How
to. Our media directory databases come to you on
a CD in "read only" format. To use a database in its most
accessible form, follow these steps: PC users: 1) Copy the database
files to your C drive. 2) In your file manager utility (e.g. Windows
Explorer) right click on the database files and click on the "properties"
option. 3) Go to the "attributes" line at the bottom of
the dialogue box and uncheck "read only." You will now
be able to use your media directory files and make changes to the
database. Mac users: Copy the database to your hard drive. You will
now be able to make changes.
Various
formats. We provide the data primarily in MS Access
2003 or MS Excel for PC customers and FileMaker Pro 6.0 for Mac
customers. Those formats seem to be the most popular. However, we
also provide the data in Dbase and comma separated formats, which
can be imported into almost any software's database.
